Supporting Displaced Children in Lebanon

As violence continues to escalate across Lebanon, hundreds of thousands of families have been forced to flee their homes with little warning. Among them are vast numbers of children, now displaced, vulnerable, and in urgent need of support.

Across the country, families are seeking safety wherever they can. While some have found shelter in schools and public buildings, many others remain in temporary conditions, sleeping in cars or out in the open, often without reliable access to food, clean water, or basic supplies.

Emergency Relief on the Ground

In response to the crisis, Give a Child a Brighter Future is providing essential food and supplies to displaced families across Lebanon, helping to meet immediate needs.

Food parcels are being distributed to sustain families during this period of uncertainty. Alongside this, baby nutrition remains a key priority, with infant milk and essential nourishment provided to ensure that even the youngest children receive the care they need.

Basic baby essentials, including nappies and other daily necessities, are also being delivered to support families who have been forced to leave everything behind. These vital supplies provide not only relief, but also a sense of stability during extremely difficult circumstances.

Reaching the Most Vulnerable

Ali, just four years old, has already experienced unimaginable loss, having lost his parents and siblings. Now displaced, small moments of comfort, such as receiving a toy or opening a box of supplies, become deeply meaningful.

Ivana, a three-year-old girl with severe burn injuries, was displaced with her family from the South and moved between hospitals before reaching safety. Access to basic essentials offers a small but important sense of comfort as she and her family begin to recover.

Stories like these are a reminder of why this work matters and the importance of continuing to reach children most in need. At a time of uncertainty and fear, access to basic essentials can make a significant difference. Through ongoing relief efforts, Give a Child a Brighter Future remains committed to supporting displaced children and their families, ensuring they receive the care and dignity they deserve. Every contribution helps extend this support, reaching more families and providing hope in the midst of crisis.

Give a Child a Brighter Future was delighted to welcome guests, vendors, and members of the community to this year's Lisa's Summer Bazaar, held in support of children in Lebanon during a time of ongoing hardship and displacement. The bazaar was attended by Her Excellency Farah Berry, Ambassador of Lebanon to the United Kingdom, alongside a former Lebanese ambassador, whose presence made the occasion especially meaningful. Throughout the day, attendees explored a wonderful range of Lebanese-owned businesses offering food, jewellery, clothing, homeware, and more. Every contribution will help fund essential care and support for children in need, and we remain deeply grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, and took part. We would also like to thank all the vendors and committee members whose generosity and dedication helped make the day such a success. Thanks to the incredible support shown throughout the bazaar, this year's fundraiser surpassed all expectations.

At Give a Child a Brighter Future, every project is rooted in a commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children across Lebanon. Through its latest initiative, the charity has helped transform the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Makassed General Hospital, enhancing the quality, safety, and responsiveness of care for critically ill children. Addressing Urgent Needs Before the upgrade, the PICU faced several challenges. Monitoring equipment was outdated and not fully integrated, limiting the ability to continuously track vital signs. Medical teams often relied on intermittent readings and manual follow-up, increasing the risk of delayed intervention during critical moments. The physical environment added further strain. Crowded bedside areas, multiple standalone devices, and exposed wiring affected workflow, infection control, and patient safety. Inconsistent equipment across beds also led to variations in care delivery. Delivering a Modern Solution With the support of Give a Child a Brighter Future, a comprehensive upgrade has now been completed. Advanced medical equipment was installed, and each bed is now equipped with multi-parameter monitoring systems that enable continuous, real-time observation. Central monitoring and alert systems also allow medical teams to quickly detect and respond to any signs of deterioration. The unit layout has been redesigned to create a more organised and efficient clinical environment, with standardised equipment across all beds to support safer and more consistent care.

Give a Child a Brighter Future is proud to collaborate with Beit el Baraka to support children and families across Lebanon through meaningful, long-term initiatives. Recently featured in Beit el Baraka's March newsletter , this partnership led to the installation of a new computer lab at Collège des Dominicaines de Notre-Dame-de-la-Délivrande in Aaraiya. Designed to improve access to digital learning, the project has equipped the school with computer stations, essential technology, and upgraded facilities, now supporting over 600 students. These resources provide students with access to digital tools, helping to build essential skills and expand learning opportunities in an increasingly digital world. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to education and creating opportunities that support children's development beyond immediate needs.
